Sign-ups begin for tennis camp

   The first session of the Excel Tennis Camp will begin July 8 and run through the 12th from 9 a.m. to noon with a second session set for July 22-26 from 3 to 4 p.m. Both will be held at Woodinville High School. The camps are for beginning through advanced players ages 10-20. The instruction that focuses on stroke production, match strategy and conditioning with no standing around. Woodinville High School boys' and girls' tennis coach and USPTR certified instructor Lynn Gorney serves as a director for the camp. Cost of the camp is $75 for varsity $50 for JV and $25 for beginners. For information or to register, call 365-3156.

Celebrity golf classic returns

   The third annual Steve Pool Celebrity Golf Classic, auction, and dinner will be held July 15 at Woodinville's Bear Creek Golf and Country Club, benefiting Childhaven, a therapeutic child care and day treatment for abused and neglected infants and preschool children. Paintballers place at tourney

   On May 25, the local paintball team Maximum Velocity placed 10th of 12 teams in their first novice competition, competing in Black Diamond against teams from all over the West Coast.
