Grading permits sought
for logging, fire site
by Jeff Switzer
The City of Woodinville is working to develop replanting plans for the site above 140th Avenue and Woodinville-Snohomish Road which was logged last month.
The Woodinville Fire department has determined that the fire was "suspicious" and is not planning to charge the property owner for putting out the fire which occurred at the site earlier this month.
According to the department, the piled up debris from the demolished house and the chipped vegetation were the fuel for the fire, though fire officials don't know who started it.
The property owner has tentative plans to apply for a grading permit.
The city will be looking at vegetation retention and requirements for replantings and erosion control, as more than 100,000 cubic feet of dirt may be removed.
