Northshore Head Start enrolling

  Northshore Head Start is now accepting applications for the upcoming school year.
   Head Start is a free preschool program for low-income 4-year-olds and their families. It runs four days a week for three-and-a-half hours each day. Transportation is provided as well as nutritious lunches.
   Head Start also offers the University of Washington Parenting Program. Call 489-6434 or 489-6376 for more information and to have an application sent to you. Space is limited. Parents are urged to call right away.
   Shelton View names award winners
   Janet Anderson and Lauri Milsow were named recipients of the 1996 Shelton View Elementary PTA Golden Acorn Award at the school awards ceremony on June 18.
   Janet DeGrave and Connie Lockwood were honored with the Golden Apple Award, which is presented annually to volunteers who have demonstrated exceptional service to children in the school and community.
