Summer concerts at Woodland Park

Woodland Park summer concerts Woodland Park Zoo has announced its Annual Summer Concert Series schedule.
   It starts with hammer dulcimer player John McCutcheon on July 17, followed by Grammy-nominated songwriter Janis Ian on July 24, and the humorous satire of The Four Bitchin' Babes, featuring Christine Lavin, on July 31.
   Bryndle, featuring songwriters Karla Bonoff and Wendy Waldman and former Stone Ponies members Kenny Edwards and Andrew Gold, will perform Aug. 7, and On A Summer's Night, featuring folk singer/songwriter John Gorka and Boston Music Award winner Patty Larkin, will perform on Aug. 14.
   On Aug. 21, rock and roll artist Jim Messina will appear, with M*A*S*H TV theme writer Louden Wainwright III on Aug. 28.
   The concerts will be held outdoors at the zoo's North Meadow, beginning at 7 p.m. and ending at dusk. Admission is $7.50 for adults and free for children 12 and under. Series tickets are $37.50 for zoo members. Call 684-4800 for more information.
