Woodinville man pleads guilty to rape of paperboy

The Woodinville man accused of raping an 11-year-old paperboy in the Kingsgate area has pleaded guilty to the charge and could face 15 years in prison.
Michael A. Ridley, 26, entered an Alford plea on July 8: The plea recognizes the substantial likelihood that a judge or jury would convict him of first-degree rape associated with the sexual assault in the Kingsgate area near NE 134th Street and 126th Avenue NE in the early morning of Sunday, Mar. 10, while the boy was delivering newspapers.
The prosecutor's office is recommending a 15-year exceptional sentence for the crime, five-and-a-half more years than the maximum of the standard range, which is seven- to nine-and-a-half years.
Dan Donohoe of the prosecutor's office said the recommendation takes into consideration the seriousness of the crime and the age and vulnerability of the victim.
