Volunteers made camp 'Extreme Fun'
This past week, July 15-19, over 150 children, from preschool to teenagers, participated in Camp Fire's Hans Jensen Day Camp in Issaquah.
The camp serves families primarily from Issaquah, North Bend, Snoqualmie, Carnation, Bellevue, Woodinville, and Redmond.
It was an outstanding week with lots of smiles and giggles and silly stuff. After all, that's what camp is all about for kids!
Eighty-some volunteers--counselors, junior staff, specialists, and guests--made this happen for those children. They shared hours and hours of their time to help create some special memories and made a difference for the youngsters they were involved with for the week.
Special recognition and appreciation goes to Site Directors Kim Nichols and Sandy Hayes, and camp registrar Caroline Jorstad for their outstanding organization and commitment to the children and volunteer staff. These three women spent nearly a year creating the "glue" that cemented the week together and made sure that the theme "Extreme Fun" was carried out in every possible way.
Thank you to everyone for your dedication and commitment to our children.
