    The Altensteiger Vokalensemble presents an evening of choral music, including the works of Bach, Brahms, Bruckner, and others on August 9 at 7:30 p.m. The concert is at the University Baptist Church, 4554 12th Ave. NE, Seattle. For more information, call 388-3311, ext. 2216.

   Giuseppe Verdi's La traviata is now playing at the Seattle Opera House. Upcoming performances are Aug. 6, 8, and 10. Call 292-ARTS or 800-426-1619 for tickets.

Summertime outdoor concerts

   Cottage Lake Park: Hear good family music with a variety of oldies played by the Terry Lauber Band Aug. 8 at 7 p.m. at the park at NE Woodinville/Duvall Rd. at 188th NE. Bring a late picnic supper and a blanket and enjoy the easy listening. Call 296-4258.

   Redmond Arts in the Park: Bring a lawn chair and a picnic dinner. Metro Luna will perform country rock and swing Aug. 14 on the Microsoft campus from noon to 1 p.m. Tia will entertain families Aug. 9 from 12 to 1 p.m. at Anderson Park, 7802 168th Ave. in Redmond. Best for kids ages 5+. Listen to bluegrass and acoustic country when Urban Renewal plays Aug. 11 from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Redmond Municipal Campus Triangle, 8701 160th Ave. NE.

   Chateau Ste. Michelle: Judy Collins with special guest Livingston Taylor will perform Aug. 11 at 7 p.m. Call 488-3300.

   Music in the Park at Bothell Landing: Bring a picnic and find a comfortable spot on the lawn, riverbank, or picnic table facing the floating stage to enjoy the harmony of the Windjammer Barbershop Chorus Aug. 9 at 6:30 p.m. at the Park at Bothell Landing.
