Dinsmore brings home the gold for youth archers
Jenny Dinsmore, 13, of Brier, won the gold medal for her division at the National Outdoor Junior Olympic Archery Tournament at Austin, Texas.
With a heat index reaching 110 degrees, Jenny kept her cool in her first experience of a shoot-off round. Competition was tough as archers from across the country shot through two days of heat and humidity to determine the winners.
Other WCW-Ed Eliason JOAD club members claiming medals were Brian Funston, 14, Brier, silver medal; Sherry Funston, 16, Brier, silver medal; and Julia Dinsmore, 15, Brier, Bronze medal. Also won were second and third place team awards.
Golf tournament benefits MS Society
Golfers can putt to benefit the National Multiple Sclerosis Society in the 1996 MS Golf Tournament on Aug. 19 at Inglewood Golf and Country Club. The tournament will be played in scramble format.
