Equestrians can now take advantage of the new hitching post at the Woodinville Redhook Ale Brewery to munch on some lunch or try some ale, while at the same time their horses are safely hitched up to the new hitching post at the brewery.
The hitching post sign was unveiled at a celebration several weeks ago which was coordinated by the Hollywood Hills Saddle Club and Redhook Ale Brewery. The sign at the post reads: "Horse parking area. Bikes use racks."
About ten horses with their riders were present for the opening event, which also featured a children's petting area. Hors d'oeuvres and Redhook baseball caps were handed out and DeYoung's Farm and Garden of Woodinville donated buckets and shovels.
"There are not many places [on the Sammamish Slough trail] where you can stop with your horse and get a snack," said Greta Buus, Hollywood Hills Saddle Club show director. The Saddle Club proposed the idea of the post to make the trail area more hospitable for riders, who can now lunch at the brewery at nearby picnic tables.
