Community Services for the Blind and Partially Sighted, a private not-for-profit agency based in Seattle, announces publication of the sixth edition of Visual Impairment and Blindness: A Resource Guide. Ice cream contest
Darigold has created an ice cream concoction contest looking for a new ice cream flavor. The "Can We Ask a Flavor of You?" contest will choose four concoctions. Their creators will become VIP guest tasters at Darigold's annual ice cream flavor review in October. Deadline for entries is Aug. 31. Diversion volunteers needed
The Conference Committee Diversion Program is seeking volunteers from the Bothell/Woodinville area to serve on panels to determine consequences for minor juvenile offenders. Requirements include at least a one-year commitment, nine hours training, and a non-judgmental attitude toward youth. All meetings are held in the evening in the Bothell/Woodinville area. Dog washes offered
The Humane Society and SPCA will continue its summer dog washes in Bellevue on Aug. 24 and 25, from noon to 4 p.m. The dog wash season will extend through Sept. 29. For more information, call 641-0080.
Pet loss support group
Help for grieving pet owners can be found at the Humane Society's Pet Loss support group. Facilitated by trained volunteers, the sessions are free, and no reservations are necessary. Sessions are held every Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon in the library on the second floor of the shelter's education center. The Humane Society is located at 13212 SE Eastgate Way in Bellevue.
