Police Beat

Police Beat by Jeff Switzer
Last Wednesday afternoon, a 25-year-old white male entered a shop on NE 175th Street looking for a crib. The salesperson said no, but that they did do consignments. The suspect left a name and phone number, but remained in the store for 40 minutes. He then hid something under his shirt and ran out of the store.
According to police, the salesperson felt that if the man needed something bad enough to steal it, so be it. About 10 minutes passed before she realized her purse was missing. The phone number turned out to be for a fax machine.
Early in the morning last Friday, a local moving truck company reported that two rocks had been thrown over the fence of their lot, striking a truck windshield and a building window. This is the second vandalism at the site this month.
