Northshore Schools Open Tuesday, September 3
Northshore school doors will open Tuesday, Sept. 3, kicking off the 1996-97 school year. The projected enrollment is 19,105 students, with approximately 2,300 full- and part-time employees.
Buses will run on all routes. The Northshore School District received 100 percent, its best rating ever, from the Washington State Patrol on the condition of the district's buses. No buses were shown out of service.
The full summer inspection scores over the past three years have been 97.6, 99.2, and now 100 percent. Scores exceeding 90% are considered "outstanding."
"It doesn't get much better than that," commented Superintendent Karen Forys. "Our bus mechanics have worked very hard to ensure the safety of our students. We applaud their efforts."
