   The South Snohomish County Chapter Business & Professional Women board of directors met Aug. 17 to strategize the direction and focus of the chapter during the coming year. Set in motion at that time was the group's goal of increasing the chapter's membership by 75 percent this year. The BPW South Snohomish County meets on the second Thursday from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Landmark Inn in Lynnwood. Call 743-0779.

   Twice Is Nice Boutique, located on the first floor of the American Legion Building in Bothell, is celebrating its 17th anniversary this month. Special events at the boutique include a 25 percent discount for lady senior citizens on Mondays and style show presentations for organizations.

   Country Village, located two miles north of Bothell, has announced the opening of a new meeting room, accommodating up to 60 people and available on a weekly, monthly, or one-time-only basis. Call 402-9818 or 483-2250.

   At their annual convention, the Longaberger Co., based in Dresden, Ohio, has recognized Gladys Baker of Woodinville as a 1996 sales achiever for generating annual sales of more than $20,000.

   Based on workmanship and reputation in the marketplace, Rob Fountain of the Handyman Connection of Shoreline has been accepted into the Certified Pella Contractor program for superior contractors.

   Mary Shemesh and Andi Bailey are now the sole owners of Medical Supply, Inc. in Woodinville.
