Judge Steiner sworn in
The newest judge in the King County District Court, David Steiner, was sworn in Sept. 12 at the NE Division of the District Court in Redmond.
Following the swearing-in, Judge Steiner challenged those present to keep him accountible to the responsibilities of his new role. "If it appears to anyone here that I have ever violated that trust, then please consider it your duty to tell me so."
He was appointed to the bendch by the Metropolitan King County Council and fills the vacancy left by the resignation of Judge Rosemary Bordlemay. Although he will stand for election this fall, his election is virtually assured since no one has filed to run against him.
Judge Steiner has previously served as the Bothell Municipal Court Judge and as a Judge Pro Tem (temporary judge) at the District Court since 1992. He has a background in both civil and criminal law.
Also at the ceremony was Judge Steiner's wife Rebecca and his daughter Anna, 4. Son Robert, 2, was not present.
