New Northshore Junior High needs name
The Northshore School District is seeking creative suggestions for a name for Junior High #6. The new junior high, located east of Paradise Lake at 19115 215th Way NE, Woodinville, will open in the fall of 1997.
In general, the name should have meaning today and for years to come; should not be similar to a name already in use in a nearby district; should be easy to spell and pronounce; and should not embody or relate to a specific event, housing development, or commercial strip. The school may be named for a person strongly associated with Northshore education.
In addition to the sender's name, address, and phone number, nominations must include an explanation, in 50 words or less, of why the suggested name should be considered for the school.
Nominations should be sent to the Northshore School District, Communications Department, 18315 Bothell Way NE, Bothell, WA 98011 by Oct. 8. A community-based committee, headed by parent Cindy Salter of Woodinville, begins meeting Oct. 9 to review the recommendations.
The person submitting the winning name for the junior high will receive a piece of original art created by one of the school's new students.
