Inglemoor cross country team running with the pack
Coach Mike Hubbard, in his eighth year at Inglemoor High School, is excited about the coming cross country season, building on last year's successes with a strong team of returning and new runners.
"We will be in the middle of the pack," said Hubbard of the boys team. "A lot will depend on how people adjust. Adam Eggers will be the best in the league."
Hubbard says Newport will be setting the pace for the league, with Issaquah, Bellevue and Woodinville following closely.
Top returning boys include junior Eggers, who placed eighth in Kingco last year, junior Dave Heistand, and seniors Mike Wawrzycki and Mike Diehl. Top newcomers for the team include juniors Madhu Naryanan and T.J Garlatz, seniors Matt Watrous and Ben Thornton, and sophomore Jorgen Olson.
Building on the returning prowess of seniors Vandary Ky, Stevie Roark, and Dorothy Brewster, the girls team will also be climbing up the Kingco ladder.
"We look to improve from last year," said Hubbard. "Sophomore Lisa Pearl will be our top runner, but we need to find a strong number five."
Similar to the boys competition, Hubbard cited Newport as being a top team, followed by Issaquah and Redmond setting the pace for Inglemoor to match and beat.
