Woodinville Merchants plan downtown events
The Retail Merchant Association, newly formed within the Woodinville Chamber of Commerce, is planning an aggressive program to market Woodinville and Cottage Lake.
The group plans to hold a special event on the last Saturday of each month, with all businesses called upon to participate in order to make the events popular with the entire community.
The first occasion will be held Sept. 28, 11 a.m.-5 p.m, featuring horse-drawn wagons with free rides between the malls, a "Car #54" on display with the C.H.P. Racing Team, chainsaw demonstrations at McLendon's, and the Farmers Market and Apple Squeeze. As always, parking will be free.
Eugene Mazzola, owner of Double ZZ Western Outfitters in Woodinville, is the acting chair for the organization.
"For the most part, the businesses of Woodinville are owned or operated by local citizens who want to meet the challenge of diversity and the need to provide services and products specifically for the greater Woodinville area," Mazzola said. "And now, the last Saturday of each month is dedicated to the friends and neighbors of Woodinville."
The Retail Merchant Association meets the second Thursday of each month from 8 to 9 a.m. in City Hall. You do not need to be a chamber member to participate. For more information, call 402-8886.
