Shoreline begins 'Smart Start'
Shoreline Community College and Northshore School District are starting Smart Start, in which participants learn to improve reading and writing skills, work on math skills, acquire good study skills, explore career choices, and prepare for a GED in the Smart Start program.
The class, sponsored by Shoreline Community College and the Northshore School District, is free and begins Oct. 1, 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m., at the Sorenson Early Childhood Center in Woodinville. For more information, call 489-6434.

For the 16th year, the UW Halbert Robinson Center for the Study of Capable Youth is cooperating with Johns Hopkins University in sponsoring a nationwide Talent Search for academically talented youth. Seventh graders can take the Scholastic Aptitude Test Dec. 7 or Jan. 25 or the computerized SAT Oct. 7-Feb. 15. For information, call 543-4160.
