WOODINVILLE downed Issaquah 3-0 (15-9, 15-9, 15-12), led by Junior Michelle MacCarthy's 28 assists, one block, two kills, and an ace. The 5'1" junior Jenny Chong chipped in three aces and two digs, along with Senior Anne Brawn and Junior Robynn Waterstrat each posting four aces and two kills. Sara Warner topped things off with four aces, 17 kills, and three blocks.
INGLEMOOR beat Woodinville 15-10, 15-9, and 15-4, with the Falcons' McCarthy netting 20 assists and Warner 13 kills.
Top returners to the Falcon team include Sara Warner, Michelle McCarthy, Anne Brawn, and Jenny Chong, who each proved themselves last week.
"We are working hard and learning quick," said Coach Yonni Mills. "We will be one of half a dozen teams trying to qualify for the three state berths."
The FALCONS topped Sammamish and Lake Washington 29-42-59 at the three-mile course at Marymoor Park last Thursday. Woodinville's Shawn Murphy broke the tape at 15:40 to come in first.
The WOODINVILLE girls cross country team topped Lake Washington and Sammamish's incomplete team, 18 to LW's 43. Woodinville took the top three positions. Running in her first cross country race, Krissi Mathers placed first at 19:24, followed by teammates Becky Weinz (19:37) and Alice Woolman (19:43).
