   Bellevue Philharmonic Orchestra opens its 30th anniversary season with the Westminster Concert Series featuring great Russian composers, Oct. 1 and 3 at 7:30 p.m., Westminster Chapel in Bellevue. Call 455-4171.

   Tickets go on sale Oct. 6 for Pacific Northwest Ballet's Nutcracker. The ballet opens Dec. 5th at the Seattle Center Opera House and runs through Dec. 29th. Tickets are available by phone at 292-ARTS, at all Ticketmaster outlets, and at the PNB Box Office.

   The Bellevue Chamber Chorus presents its first concert of the season on Oct. 12 at 7:30 p.m. and Oct. 13 at 3 p.m. The performance, Sing Me to Heaven, features music by composers Mendelssohn, Bach, Durufle, Bieble, Stanford, and Schubert. Call 881-0445 for ticket information.

   The Rainier Chamber Winds 1996-97 concert season opens with performances at the Triple J Cafe in Kirkland Oct. 3, 7-9 p.m. and Oct. 6, 2:30 p.m. at the Seattle Art Museum. Call 780-1021.

   Piano superstar Evgeny Kissin makes his Seattle debut Oct. 3 at 8 p.m. at the Meany Theater on the University of Washington campus. His concert will mark the opening of the UW President's Piano Series. Call 543-4880 for ticket information.

   The Seattle Asian Art Museum will hold its first Fall Performances in the Park event Oct. 6 at 2 p.m. in the Garden Court at Volunteer Park. The concert will feature Japanese music and dance. Call 654-3100 for more information.
