Cheerleaders hold fundraiser

   The WHS junior varsity cheer squad will hold a Botanical Sale Oct. 12 at the Woodinville Mall in a space donated by Ed Heck. The mall is located two blocks east of Molbak's. Included in the sale will be freeze-dried roses and gardenias at up to 80% off their retail value. Also available will be a large assortment of preserved foliage and air dried floral and craft items. The sale will help the girls pay for their uniforms and cheer camp fees.

Spectre '84 girls tied

   Spectre '84, the NYSA U-13 team, was tied 1-1 on a last-minute goal by the Royals on an indirect kick in Premier League action last Saturday. Keela Tiernan scored the Spectre goal on an assist from Julia Eagan. On Sept. 28, they defeated the Auburn Panthers 4-0 and lost to the Bellingham Rangers 2-1 on Sept. 29.

Northshore soccer news

   The Woodinville FC Sting U-15 boys used a strong defensive effort to defeat the Lake Washington Arsenal 1-0 in District 3 gold play. FC Sting's lone goal came on a corner kick by Russ Dailey whose "in-swinger" was dropped by the Arsenal keeper. The FC Sting defensive corps consists of Pat Flanagan, Austin Hajjar, Dan Howard, Dan Mittler, and Dan Potter. Brian Carter got the shutout in goal.
