Double Cookin' at Java Jive Cabaret
Java Jive welcomes back acoustic blues musicians Double Cookin' for their third appearance at the concert series in Woodinville on November 9. Java Jive is presented by Roxie's CD's and Tapes and the Woodinville Unitarian Universalist Church, with concerts beginning at 8 p.m.
Double Cookin' features the acoustic blues musicians James "Curley" Cooke and Rod Cook. Curley, a founding member of the Steve Miller Band, has performed and recorded with blues and pop legends Freddie King, Mike Bloomfield, John Lee Hooker, Chuck Berry, and Jerry Garcia. Rod Cook made his name with the Seattle area band The Royals. He is also currently a member of the Laura Love Band and has recorded with many area musicians.
They play a mixture of styles, ranging from haunting blues standards to down-home originals. Buy your tickets early--this one may sell out!
