Flu identified in student
The American Lung Association has received a report that an influenza (flu) isolate identified as Type A has been identified in a 21-year old UW student. That is the same strain as the A/Wuhan subtype targeted by U.S. health officials as one of the 3 strains most likely to strike during flu season this year.
It is recommended that anyone who is at risk for flu complications, or who works or lives with someone who is, should get a flu shot this year between now and Dec. 1. For information on convenient locations to get the shot, call 441-5100 or 1-800-LUNG USA.
