RTA: Voters asked to approve 'Sound Move'
The RTA proposal seeks an increase in local sales and motor vehicle excise taxes to raise $3.9 billion for more HOV express lanes, regional express buses, commuter rail, and electric light-rail to solve congestion and improve traffic flow.
City looks at Fire District
The City Council last week began the process of evaluating its relationship with the Woodinville Fire and Life Safety District. City Manager Joe Meneghini, acting as project manager, submitted a draft proposal and scope outline for the study.
Bothell man charged in Duvall assault
King County prosecutors have charged an Eastside man with first-degree attempted murder and rape in the recent kidnapping and assault of a Seattle girl. Brian Charles Watts was charged last week for allegedly abducting the 16-year-old near Seattle Center.
Wedge development approved
The 32-home project on "the Wedge" received its approval with conditions recently, and it is not yet known whether residents there will appeal the decision to the City Council.
Bothell Landmarks Board has vacancy
Interested citizens are invited to apply to fill a partial term vacancy on the Bothell Landmark Preservation Board. The term will begin upon appointment and expire July 15, 1998.
Three female students and two adult males are in custody after allegedly kidnapping and assaulting a 16-year-old Bothell student, taking her from her apartment complex on Woodinville-Juanita Road on Oct. 22.
