Girls soccer

   Oct. 15: The FALCONS dominated 2nd place Lake Washington, shutting them out 2-0. With a strong defense from Pierce, Gordon, and Katie Collings, the Kangs were limited to three shots on goalie Marie Potter. Lim, Hartstein, and Skogen each had shots on goal, but forward Smith scored the two winning bookend goals, scoring in the first and last two minutes of the game.
   Oct. 17: WOODINVILLE fell to Issaquah 1-0 from a penalty shot in the waning minutes of the game.
   Oct. 22: The FALCONS blanked Interlake 6-0, with two goals by Heather Hartstein on feeds from Tracy Smith and Vanessa Pierce. Other scores included Sarah Shaw (on a pass from Tricia Gordon), Amanda Lim from Smith, Anna Lisa Skogen from Suzanne Culpepper, and Kinsey McCormick's solo shot. WOODINVILLE remains in first place and has three games left before the finals, two of which are this week against Inglemoor and Juanita.

Girls Volleyball

Inglemoor beats Redmond, clinches Kingco
   Oct. 23: BOTHELL topped WOODINVILLE, 15-8, 15-13, 15-8. The Cougars triumphed behind Jill Mumm's 10 kills, 18 digs, and one ace; Stephanie Speed's 10 kills, 10 digs, and one block; Jessie Woods' 31 assists, two kills, 10 digs, and one block; Colleen Kerwin's six kills, 10 digs, and one ace; Shana Colter's three kills, one block, and one ac; and Jennae Krell's three blocks and three kills. Falcon highlights included Michelle Macarthy's eight kills, 16 assists, and three blocks, and Sara Warner's 16 kills and three blocks.
   Oct. 25: Inglemoor beat Redmond Friday to clinch their first Kingco title in 22 years. Winning in the fourth game over Redmond, 15-8, 15-7, 6-15, 15-9, the Vikings played to a capacity crowd. Kim Formo led Inglemoor with 12 kills and six blocks; Gretchen Olson had 11 kills.
