Cottage Lake Council to meet

   The Cottage Lake Area Council is sponsoring a meeting Nov. 20 at 7 p.m., at the Woodinville Water Department District office, 17238 Woodinville-Duvall Road. Mike Rice of the King County Parks Department will update Phase I plans for the development of Cottage Lake Park. The meeting is open to the public, and all interested are welcome. Santa PAWS returns

   Bring your pet to Alderwood Mall on Nov. 16 and 17 for a visit with Santa. Cost is $19 for two 5x7 color prints and the negative. Reprints and holiday cards are also available. Bring dogs and cats of any size, shape, or color to the north entrance between Nordstrom and Sears to sit on Santa Paws' lap. He does them all ... with a smile! All dogs must be on leashes and cats in carriers. Proceeds benefit PAWS.

Camp Fire course teaches that Friends are Fun

   Camp Fire's program "Friends Are Fun" is scheduled Nov. 18 and 21, 6:30 to 8 p.m., at the Camp Fire Office in the Family Resource Center, 16315 NE 87th, Redmond. The program is for children in grades 1 and 2; cost is $12. "Friends Are Fun" helps young children learn about friendship and what it means to be assertive, non-assertive, or aggressive. Children learn about giving and receiving compliments, ways to deal with teasing, and about Camp Fire's "No Put Down Zone." Register by Nov. 14 by calling 461-8550.

Kid Safety Plus

   A comprehensive child first aid and CPR course for parents, babysitters, and in-home child care providers will be offered Nov. 23 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Evergreen Hospital. Call 899-3000.

Volunteers needed to organize Coaches vs. Cancer

   Volunteers are needed to promote and organize Coaches vs. Cancer, a new program to raise money for the fight against cancer. Donors can pledge money for every 3-point shot made by either the UW Husky men's or women's basketball teams during the '96-'97 season.
