Colored pencil art on exhibit

   On display at the Washington State Convention and Trade Center through Dec. 29 is The Emerging Spirit of Colored Pencil, featuring work by the Seattle Chapter of the Colored Pencil Society of America. A free slide show and lecture by Vera Curnow, CPSA, founder and award-winning artist and author, will be given Nov. 22, 12-1 p.m., in the Level 2 International Meeting Place.

Bennett show and sale

   A show and sale of trust artwork from the Elton Bennett estate will be presented by the artists' daughters, Barbara and Evelyn, Nov. 20-26, 9 a.m.-8 p.m., by appointment only, at the Sorrento Hotel. Original hand-done serigraphs depicting the working environment in the Pacific Northwest fishing community will be available for purchase. Call 360-642-2374 for an appointment.

Holiday dining at the zoo

   The Woodland Park Zoo will host a Thanksgiving Buffet Nov. 28, 11:30 a.m.-3 p.m., and a Santa Breakfast Nov. 30, Dec. 1, 7-8, 14-15, and 21-22, 9 a.m.-10:30 a.m., in the Rain Forest Cafe. The Breakfast will include a visit from Santa, a mini-version of The Nutcracker ballet, and carolers. Both events are fundraisers, and reservations are required. Call 632-9664.

Dessert, music on the menu

   The Bellevue Eastside Youth Symphonies will present their Fall Dessert Social Concert Nov. 23, at Highland Covenant Church, 15022 Bel-Red Road, Bellevue. Tickets are $6 for adults, and $4 for students and seniors. Dessert tickets are an additional $4 per person, available at the door.

Free tasting of chocolate and cabernet

   Snoqualmie Winery will host a free tasting of Cabernet Sauvignon and Boehm's chocolates Nov. 23-24 and Dec. 21-22. The winery is open from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily. Call 888-4000 for directions and information.
