Mail delayed by snow
Last week's snowstorm delayed normal mail delivery in much of rural and incorporated King County.
"We must not put our carriers in dangerous situations when it comes to delivering the mail until the weather improves," said District Manager Dale Zinser. "Streets that are icy or have compacted snow, particularly in the hilly areas, are a hazard to our carriers."
Zinser said the mail was delayed only until the roads were re-opened.
Sherstad named to new committee
State Rep. Mike Sherstad, R-Bothell, has been appointed by Speaker of the House Clyde Ballard to serve as vice chair of the House Land Use and Reform committee. The newly-formed legislative committee will review all bills related to land use, including the possible reform of the Growth Management Act.
In last week's column by Louise Miller, Metropolitan-King County councilmember, an error was made in the first paragraph. It should have read:
"If you are a property owner, you have probably received your Valuation Change Notice from King County, some indicating a sizable increase in property value this year."
