Retail development breaks ground

In spite of torrential rainfall, TRF Pacific broke ground at the site of their 43-acre development Monday morning. Above, TRF President Bob Parks (third from right) joined Mayor Bob Miller (fourth from right) and other TRF participants in the golden shovel ceremony. In keeping with TRF tradition, the neighboring property owners, Ed Tilton and Egan and Kirsten Molbak, gave their "permission" for the project to start.

A new Target store is scheduled to open in spring 1998, but 12 movie theaters, Top Foods, and streetfront shops are planned to open in fall 1997. Demolition of other buildings will continue throughout the week.
