Help the homeless
Join in the spirit of giving and participate in the YWCA's Adopt-A-Family program. You can shop for and purchase gift items for a specific family, organize a giving tree, or donate funds so the YWCA can purchase gift certificates for the families.
This is a great project for individuals, churches, civic groups, employee groups, or for families to do together. With your help, more than 1,000 less fortunate families will know joy and happiness this holiday season.
Dec. 12 is the gift-delivering deadline in order to ensure there is enough time to get the gifts to families before the holidays. For more information, or to sign up, call 461-4431.
Fundraising chairs named
The Northshore YMCA anounces the recruitment of Walt Yeager as the general chair for the annual Partners With Youth fundraising campaign. The section of the campaign soliciting $1,000+ donations, the Chair's Round Table, is being chaired by Bob Russell, and the Community Campaign chair is Robin Yim. The YMCA extended its gratitude to the volunteers for their leadership and community support.
Program begins for dads and kids
The YMCA Indian Guides and Indian Princess Programs are a great chance for dads to spend quality time with their kids year round. Monthly gatherings, a winter weekend at a resident camp, racing pinewood derby cars, and a weekend in the San Juan Islands at Camp Orkila are events still to come. To sign up with a tribe in your neighborhood, visit the Northshore YMCA or call 485-9797 for more information.
