Man dies in parking lot accident
A 39-year-old Lynnwood man died after he was run over by his Chevy van while trying to stop it from moving after leaving it running at a convenience store.
At 9 p.m. Nov. 24, King County Police arrived at a Juanita convenience store at NE 150th and Juanita Drive NE, where witnesses say the man had left his vehicle running as he went into the store. From inside, he noticed the Chevy panel van was moving. He ran out to try and stop it, only to slip and fall on the ground. He was then run over twice by his vehicle, which was traveling in circles.
An employee of the store was able to stop the van.
A 45-year-old Bothell man died of internal injuries at the scene after his truck left the roadway and crashed into a lightpole early Nov. 23.
According to the State Patrol, Robert Douglas Iverson was driving north on the I-405 to SR-522 interchange in his 1994 Chevy pickup. He was not wearing his seat belt. The cause is still under investigation.

Long named Senate committee chair
State Sen. Jeanine Long, R-Mill Creek, has been appointed chair of the Senate Committee on Human Services and Corrections. Long represents the 44th Legislative District, from Everett to the Snohomish county line and from Mukilteo and Lynnwood to rural south Snohomish County.
Health Services Awarded
The Snohomish Health District announced that the contract to provide home health care services for HIV and AIDS clients in Snohomish County has been awarded to Providence Home Care and Hospice of Snohomish County.
