Woodinville Fire & Life Safety District Board changes meetings

The Woodinville Fire and Life Safety District Board of Fire Commissioners has voted 4-0-1 to change its meetings back from Tuesdays to Mondays for the next 90 days, beginning with the next meeting on Dec. 16. Commissioner David Callon made the motion; Commissioner Don Eddy seconded. Commissioner Ben May was excused.
The board will meet the first and third Monday of each month, 6 p.m., at district headquarters, 19900 144th Ave. NE, Woodinville.

Holiday hours at post office

The Woodinville Post Office's holiday hours have been enhanced: Dec. 20, 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. (one hour earlier); and Dec. 21, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. (two hours later).
With Christmas on a Wednesday this year, sending parcels across country using priority mail service through Dec. 21 will enable most deliveries before Christmas day. For those needing a guaranteed delivery, even on Christmas day, express mail service can be used through Dec. 24.

Holiday emphasis for State Patrol

A special contingent of six troopers will be on alert this weekend as the State Patrol again targets DUI violations in December in King County. Of the 20 December traffic deaths in the last three years, only one was alcohol-related. Last year's count included two pedestrians.
