New deputy fire chief in Bothell
Captain Ronald B. Zsigmondovics has been promoted to the position of Deputy Chief for Bothell Fire and E.M.S.
Following a nationwide recruitment, nine individuals were selected to participate in the two-day testing process. Zsigmondovics was the only candidate from within the department.
Bothell Fire & E.M.S. provides education, prevention, preparedness, and emergency response services for both the City of Bothell and Snohomish County Fire District #10. The position of Deputy Chief oversees the day-to-day operations of the three fire stations and 66 people who provide these services. This position reports directly to the Fire Chief and takes command in his absence.
Zsigmondovics, who has lived in Bothell since the 4th grade, is a seasoned firefighter who started with the Bothell Fire Department May 8, 1978 as a volunteer.
On Oct. 1, 1979, he began his career as a full-time firefighter. He has moved up through the ranks of Lieutenant (May 1, 1985) and Captain (April 15, 1991).
He and his wife Lynn live in Bothell with their two children, Molly (6-1/2) and Robert (4-1/2).
