Art shows, gallery exhibits


   Through Jan. 10, FrameWright Gallery is featuring a group of 14 local artists and photographers in its gallery. The exhibit will include original works by Cindra Avery, Robert Cardonna, Abby Castle, Peter Cihelka, Jeri Childs, Rebecca Loveless, Tim Pembroke, Margaret Rosenbaum, Lynne Saad, Erma Schiffner, Willie Sligh, Louise Smith, Alan Sprague, and Helen Thompson.    Exhibitions at the Seattle Art Museum for the winter include Design 1885-1945, African Orthodox Art, Aborginal Australian Art, Northwest Master Guy Anderson, and Collection Highlights: 1945 to the Present. Upcoming exhibitions include Matisse, Picasso and Friends, scheduled for Feb. 20-Apr. 20, and a Fay Jones Retrospective, Mar. 20-July 20.    Seattle Asian Art Museum in Volunteer Park will have a special exhibition of Abstraction and Expression in Chinese Calligraphy through Mar. 23. Twenty-four hanging scrolls and handscrolls are being presented, dating from the 15th to the 20th centuries. Arts of Korea and Vietnamese Ceramics will also be featured.
