New principal at Northshore Jr. High
John Bond, principal of Fernwood Elementary in Bothell, has been named principal of Northshore Junior High effective July 1. He replaces principal Bill Killien, who will be on an extended medical leave for chronic knee problems requiring surgery and extensive rehabilitation.
Bond has worked in the Northshore School District since 1972. During his first eight years in the district, he taught elementary school at Lockwood, Cottage Lake, and Westhill. This was followed by four years as assistant principal at Leota Junior High, and three years as principal at Westhill Elementary. For the past eight years, he has been principal at Fernwood.
"John's experience in K-9 education will be of great value to Northshore Junior High as they implement team teaching in grades 7 and 8 this fall," said Harry Vanikiotis, executive director of secondary education. John will join the administrative team of John Loy and newly-hired vice principal James Ivory.
