Folklife Festival plans underway for '97
Applications are now available for the 1997 Northwest Folklife Festival, May 23-26 in Seattle.
This free annual celebration is hailed as Seattle's largest cultural event and features music, dance, food, crafts, demonstrations, and workshops representing the traditional arts of cultures around the world. Held every Memorial Day weekend at Seattle Center, the Northwest Folklife Festival attracts more than 200,000 visitors each year.
Craft vendors from Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Alaska and British Columbia are encouraged to apply by Jan.13. Volunteer applications are welcomed throughout the year, but to receive priority scheduling, send applications by Mar. 1. Call 684-7300.
