The first baby born in the new year to Woodinville residents came into the world at 1:24 p.m. on New Year's Day. John Michael Madden, son of Shelly and John Madden, weighed in at 7 lbs., 8 ounces. He is the Maddens' first child.
The Madden family was presented with gifts in recognition of being the first Woodinville baby born at the hospital in the new year. The gifts included flowers from Woodinville Florist, Starbuck's coffee beans, a sleeper and bib from the Seattle Seahawks, a subscription to Eastside Parent magazine, a year's tuition for Evergreen Hospital's weekly Baby-Parent Time educational group, the book What to Expect the First Year from Woodinville Crown Books, and gift certificates from Woodinville Boston Market and Baby Diaper Service.
In addition, the new mother will be treated to a pedicure courtesy of Gene Juarez Salons, and John Michael's first haircut will come courtesy of Kids Kuts in Bothell.
