Obituary: Ronald Lee Ragsdale, Sr.
Ronald Ragsdale died suddenly Dec. 30, 1996 in Seattle. Born Dec. 29, 1944 in Seattle, Ron moved to Woodinville with his family in 1980 and had recently relocated with his wife to Bothell.
He served in the U.S. Army for three years. After many years in the auto body industry and a short career in real estate, he reassessed his career goals and was only a few credits short of his legal assistant degree at Edmonds Community College.
His favorite moments were whenever he was surrounded by his family. In his spare time, he enjoyed camping with his family, hiking, and biking. He spent 20 years teaching karate in the Northshore area.
Mr. Ragsdale is survived by his wife of 19 years, Bev Ragsdale; his children, Roneida Ragsdale, Ron Jr. (R.J.) Ragsdale, Wendy Shoot, Wally Shoot, Todd Cook, and Michelle Russell; grandchildren Reid Alexander Ragsdale, Kyleah Russell, Spencer Russo, and Forrest Russo; sister, Judy Larsen; and many nephews and nieces.
Services were held at Acacia Funeral Home last Saturday. Memorial donations can be sent to First Place, a school for homeless children, at P.O. Box 22536; Seattle, WA 98122.
