Boys Swimming

   Jan. 7: Leading 97-86, the Woodinville Falcons beat Lake Washington. Sophomore Ryan Freeman won the 200 IM (2:07.27), the 100 backstroke (59.94), and teamed up with Peter Jamison, Matt Smith, and Sam Chesnau to take the 200 medley relay (1:57.86). Freshman Aaron McCann took the 500 free in 5:27.96, senior Aaron Price won the 100 breaststroke in 1:20.47, and freshman diver Richard Bogue dominated with 115.45.
   Jan. 9: The WHS team walloped Eastlake, 122-39. Ryan Freeman took the 100 butterfly with a new school record (56.98), won the 100 breaststroke (1:05.07), and swam a leg on the Falcons' victory in the 200 relay with Peter Jamison, Aaron McCann, and Sam Chesnau. Sean Skelly took the 200 free (2:15.03) and the 500 free (6:11.28). McCann also took the 200 IM (2:22.56) and the 100 backstroke (1:12.90). Sean Frisch took the 100 free in 1:03.07. Falcons Matt Smith, Frisch, Skelly, and Chesnau teamed up on the 200 free relay (won in 1:48.60), Freeman, Skelly, Brian Figler and McCann took the 400 free relay in 4:05.17, and Jeff Marth won diving with 139.60.

Girls Basketball

   Jan. 8: The Woodinville girls fell to Issaquah, 60-35. The Falcons were led by 5'5" sophomore guard DeAnna O'Hara, who scored nine points, followed by 5'8" junior forward Robynn Waterstrat with six. Megan Johnson, Lindsay Brown, Beth Grove, and Amy Rogers each had four points. Senior Heather Sutten had 3 and Tristen Johnson had one point.
   "The girls played really hard," said Coach Mike Giusti. "Even though we're still looking for our first win this season, we continue to improve. We feel like that first win is just around the corner." The Falcons are 0-4.
