Youth Symphony in Winter Concert

   The Cascade Youth Symphony will feature its three youngest groups in a Winter Concert Jan. 26 at 4 p.m. at the Shoreline Community Center. Tickets are $8 for adults, $5 for students, and $4 for seniors. Call 486-5969 for information.

   Shoreline Community College presents Wayne Johnson, pianist and lecturer, in Minuets, Mazurkas, and Malaqueñas, Jan. 24, 8 p.m. at the Little Theater at Shoreline Community College.    The Grover-Thurston Gallery in Pioneer Square and the downtown Seattle Art Museum will host concerts by the Rainier Chamber Winds at 7 p.m. on Jan. 30 and at 2:30 p.m. on Feb. 2. Tickets are $30 general, and $26 for students and seniors. For more information, call 780-1021.

   Performances of the opera Werther, featuring the original tenor version in French with subtitles, is set for Jan. 22, 24, 25, 29, and 30 at the Seattle Center Opera House. Evening performances begin at 7:30 p.m., and the Sunday matinee is at 2 p.m. The Jan. 30 performance will be group night with a special discount.
