Exceptional service. Courage. Integrity. Safety. These are some of the values officers of the Bothell Fire Department and E.M.S. and Snohomish County Fire District 10 were asked to uphold at a swearing-in ceremony and promotions celebration Jan. 24.
Fire Chief Marcus Kragness pinned new badges on the officers in a presentation at the Seattle Times North Creek facility. "We want to provide an exceptional level of service, whether it be training at the station or dealing with the public," Kragness reminded the officers.
Receiving new titles were at the celebration were:
Deputy Chief Ronald Zsigmondovics: He began as a volunteer for the Bothell Fire Department in 1978. He will be in charge of day-to-day operations, supervising captains, and administration.
Captain Robert van Spaandonk: He was hired in March 1987 and now coordinates training for all departments. Previously he led recruitment efforts.
Captain Joseph Krempl: Has served as Map Book Coordinator and Instructor Coordinator, and will now provide administrative support. Krempl has worked for the department since March 1987.
Lieutenant GaryMc Adam: A C-shift supervisor at Station 42, he has been promoted to Public CPR Program instructor and EMS Supplies Coordinator.
On hand were family, friends, Bothell City Manager Rick Kirkwood, and other officers from the Bothell and Snohomish Fire Departments.
