   Jan. 16: The WOODINVILLE boys wrestling team mangled Mercer Island, 52-13. Winners included Garrett Van Vactor (101; 9-4), Kevin Bryant (108; 11-7), Patrick Runez (115; 6-0), Mark Lange (122; 8-0), John Schmidt (129; 8-3), Aaron Tenis (141; 13-6), Kyle Carbone (148; 10-0), Josh Tobin (158; pin), Eric Carlson (168; pin), Ryan Prentiss (178; forfeit), and Brigham Tomco (275; pin).

   Jan. 21: INGLEMOOR topped WOODINVILLE in boys swimming, 117-65. Falcon leaders included Jeff Marth in diving (162.9), and sophomore Ryan Freeman, who won the 100 backstroke (57.28) and the 100 butterfly (57.48).

   Jan. 21 (B-League): The CEDAR PARK boys basketball team fell to Lincoln, 59-47. Ben Fuiten posted 23 points, followed by Jason Hayes (10) and Ryan Cox (9).

   Jan. 22: The WOODINVILLE girls basketball team fell to Interlake, 55-39. Five-foot ten-inch senior Amy Rogers led the Falcons in the defensive battle, scoring 12 points, followed by 5-5 sophomore guard Deanna O'Hara, who posted 8 points, and 5-10 sophomore Beth Grove. Other scorers included Lindsay Brown, a sophomore guard standing 5-3, with six points, Robynn Waterstrat with 2, Rachel Laitala (2), and Heather Sutten (1).
   "It was a really good game," said Coach Mike Giusti, who noted that Interlake had only a narrow lead, 25-21, at the half. "We outrebounded them and just did a really good job defensively."

   Jan. 23: In spite of victories by freshman Aaron McCann in the 500 free (5:23.53) and sophomore sensation Ryan Freeman in the 200 (2:04.95) and the 100 back (57.00), the WOODINVILLE boys swim team fell to Juanita, 101-82.
