Paintball teams in tourney

   Team HOT (second place, 1,100 points) and Team Pursuit (third place, 850 points) are still in the running in the Splat Attack Five-Man Novice Winter Series, with the finals scheduled for Feb. 9. Team Pursuit is made up of R-A Mazzola (21, captain), Robbie Saarinen (15, co-captain), R.V. Palmer (28), Steve Saarinen (18), Adam Shaw (15), Denby Prokosh (21), and Matt Schrank (20). Their local sponsors include Bigfoot Bagels, Round Table Pizza, Paintball Playground, Sir Plus, Postnet, and Valvoline. In December, more than 30 players braved snow to play at the Paintball Playground's first annual Canned Food Drive, bringing in more than 200 items for Northwest Harvest.

Powder puff football game

   The public is invited to a Powder Puff football game Jan. 30 at 7:30 p.m. at Pop Keeney Field. Bothell High senior girls will play against juniors and sophomores in a full tackle football game. Male students will take the part of cheerleaders, and BHS football players will serve as coaches during the game. This activity was planned by the BHS ASB, with all proceeds going to benefit the Make A Wish Foundation for terminally ill children.

Snow closes sno-parks, trails

   The Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission advises cross-country skiers and snowmobilers to check trail and sno-park conditions before traveling because severe weather has damaged roads and trails. Call 1-800-233-0321 for information.
