Sina Nazemi, of Woodinville, recently served as a Washington State Senate page in Olympia. Sponsored by Sen. Rosemary McAuliffe, D-Bothell, Nazemi, age 15, got a first-hand look at how the Legislature and its various committees operate.
Nazemi, son of Badri Madani Nazemi and Amed Nazemi, attends Woodinville High School, where he is in the 10th grade. He enjoys tennis, basketball, skiing, mock trial, and Young Democrats. He also serves as class treasurer.
Each year, approximately 280 young people, ages 14-15, participate in the page program. A page school allows students to keep up their school work while learning about the Legislature.
