Wilder Elementary third grader Mark Broidy got the chance to examine a meteorite with a magnifying glass last Wednesday when the Pacific Science Center brought its science van "Space Odyssey" to the school. The heavy chunk of space detritus and 20 other space-related exhibits are part of an outreach program that visited 45 percent of all Washington state school districts during the 1995-96 school year. Other exhibits included scales that told kids how much they weighed on Pluto and Neptune, jigsaw puzzles of the moon, and an inflatable planetarium.
