Winter Community Forum
The next presentation in the Northshore School District's Winter Community Forum series will be "How does the Six-Trait Model Improve Writing?" on Feb. 27 at Ricketts Auditorium from 7 to 9 p.m. Diane Baerwald, language arts coordinator for Northshore Schools, will discuss this writing program now being used in the district's elementary schools. Examples will be available to give parents suggestions for helping children with their homework. The session is free of charge as an educational service opportunity. SEPAC meeting announced
Northshore School District's Special Education Parent's Advisory Council (SEPAC) will meet Feb. 26, from 7:30 to 9 p.m. at Ricketts Auditorium, 18300 Bothell Way NE, Bothell. Featured will be a presentation about Woodinville High School's ACT Program (Activities of Community Training) and their Peer Tutoring Program. Signe Powell from Skyview Junior High School will also discuss the peer tutor program at the junior high level. Childcare is available for this presentation by calling Greta in the Special Education Administration Office at 489-6311 by 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 24th.
Parents of first through third grade children will get an opportunity to learn how to help their children have fun with math at a workshop at the Woodinville Library, Feb. 26 from 6:30-8 p.m. Parents will get ideas that they can use to help their children and take home a packet filled with math learning resources, game instructions, and helpful hints.
