YMCA partners with youth
A crowd of 100 YMCA supporters gathered on January 28 to kick-off the annual Partners With Youth Campaign. This volunteer-driven campaign has recruited 130 people who will make personal contact with 5,500 individuals and businesses to educate them about how YMCA builds strong kids, strong families, and strong communities. They will also seek contributions to reach the $105,000 campaign goal.
In addition to providing program scholarships, local contributions are matched by the YMCA of Greater Seattle to support a full-time youth development director in the Northshore area. Maurita Colburn coordinates programs such as Youth Earth Service Corps, Youth and Government, and weekly programming at the Sorenson site in Woodinville. These programs served more than 3800 middle and high school students last year.
