The New Savoy Opera's production of Orpheus in the Underworld will open March 8 at the Bastyr University, formerly the St. Thomas Center, 14500 Juanita Drive NE in Bothell. Other performance dates are set for March 9, 14, 15, 16, 21, 22, and 23. Times are Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 3 p.m.
The musical comedy, based on the mythological tale Eurydice, was written by Jacques Offenbach and features the famous galup dance from Orpheus known as the "can-can."
