March events at Molbak's
Upcoming events at Molbak's will include Controlling Garden Critters. These free seminars will help participants learn how to control pests effectively and safely. Large pests, such as squirrels, deer, rabbits, and raccoons, will be covered March 7 at 6 p.m., with mole control at 7:30 p.m. Slugs, aphids, fruit pests, and rose diseases will be covered March 8 at 9:00 a.m.
Learn about Native Plants in the Landscape March 14 at 7:00 p.m. This free seminar will cover varieties and care.
Children, ages 6-11, are invited to two sessions of Dirty Digs, March 15 from 10:00 a.m. to noon, and again from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Children will discover the life of soil and how to make and mix different types. Each participant will take home planting experiments. Pre-registration is required. Call 483-5000, ext. 475, by March 7. Fee for the seminar is $7, and parents are welcome.
Other free seminars include Soil and Composting, March 21. Healthy Garden Soil will be covered at 6 p.m.; Composting is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.; and Shady Delights will be presented March 22 at 9 a.m.
Special free events during March will feature the opportunity to bring your questions to Master Recycler Composters March 15 and March 29 from 10:00 a.m. to noon. The Washington Native Plant Society will answer questions March 22 and March 23 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
