Soccer club plays for championship

Washington Soccer Club The Washington Soccer Club (WSC), a U-17 girls team, will play the Tacoma F.C. Royals for the state championship March 9. Comprised of girls from Woodinville and surrounding communities, the team is playing in its second straight state championship game. They lost to Tacoma, 1-0, last year. WSC competes in the top division in the state, Premier 1.
   In the playoffs this year, WSC is 3-0-1. During overtime in a semifinal against the Tri-City Terror, Suzanne Culpepper scored three goals and had an assist as WSC won 4-0. Culpepper has six goals and three assists so far in the playoffs, Tracey Smith has three goals and two assists, and Cherish Orozco has two goals and two assists. WSC goalies have only been scored on once.
   Kickoff for the state championship game is at 12:15, March 9 at Federal Way High School
